Using STEM to explore and learn about our solar system.

Our Solar System is a fascinating place with many things to learn about. It consists of the Sun at the centre, around which nine planets and other celestial objects orbit.

The planets in our Solar System are; Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) plays an important role in helping us understand the mysteries of our Solar System. Scientists and engineers use STEM to explore space, build rockets, study the planets, and much more.

Studying our Solar System through STEM helps us learn about the different planets and their unique features. For Example;

  • Venus is the hottest planet in our Solar System. This is because of its thick atmosphere trapping heat from the Sun.
  •  Saturn is famous for its beautiful rings made of ice and dust particles.

STEM also helps us understand how the planets move around the Sun and how they interact with each other. By using maths and physics, scientists can predict when planets will align or when eclipses will occur.

Technology is another important aspect used in studying our Solar System. Engineers design spacecraft and probes that travel to different planets, sending back valuable data and images for scientists to analyse. Technology has made it possible for mankind to  explore distant worlds like Mars and collect valuable information about their atmospheres and surfaces.

In conclusion, STEM is essential for understanding and exploring our Solar System. By studying Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, we can unlock the mysteries of space, learn about the planets in our Solar System, and also  inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers to reach for the stars.
