If I were to swap lives with anyone for a day, who would it be and why?
If I were to swap lives with anyone for a day, it would be Benazir Bhutto.
Why I would like to swap lives with her is because she is the bravest woman I have ever seen. She was the first female prime minister of Pakistan and Pakistan’s second national elected Minister in a Muslim majority county. At age thirty five, she was the youngest elected leader in the Islamic world, the world’s youngest prime minister and the youngest female prime minister ever elected.
At sixteen years old she left her homeland to study at Harvard’s Radcliffe. She was born in Karachi Pakistan to a prominent political family. She was born in nineteen fifty three. Ideologically, she was a liberal and a secularist. She chaired or co- chaired the Pakistan People’s party (PPP ) from the early nineteen eighties until her assassination in two thousand and seven.
She was assassinated at the age of fifty four on December twenty eight, the year two thousand and seven. She had three children, she had a husband by the name of Asif Ali Zardari. She was buried in the Bhutto family mausoleum. She served as the 11th prime minister of Pakistan from 1988 to 1990 and again from 1993 to 1996 and she was also the first woman elected to be head of the Democratic government. Her parents’ names were Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Nusrat Bhutto.
Her nickname was Iron lady and she was the president of Oxford Union. Her brother, just like her, was assassinated but in 1995. She had inspired many people and even after her death. Her death was very heartbreaking. Her son Bilawal Bhutto Zardari took over after her death.
Her story of fighting for women rights and fighting corruption really touched my heart. She has inspired me a lot to be a lawyer so that I can fight for people’s rights. When I grow up I want to be just like Benazir Bhutto, the woman of steel.
