Natural Resources in Northern Africa
Natural resources are things we get from the earth like oil, metals, trees, and precious stones. They help us make food, buildings, tools, jewelry and more. Here are some of the resources found in the Northern African countries, what they are used to make, and why they’re important.
Egypt
Resources found in egypt include;
- Oil: used to make fuel ( petrol & diesel)
- Gas(Methane) : used to produce heat which can cook food and make electricity.
- Gold : used to make jewelry, coins,
- Cotton – used to make clothes and bedsheets.
Egypt is a leading cotton producer in Africa, with a long history of cotton cultivation and textiles.
Libya
Resources found in Libya include;

- Salt – used to add flavor to food and essential for preserving food.
Oil reserves in Libya are the largest in Africa and among the ten largest globally.
Algeria
Resources found in Algeria include;
